Let’s Talk Snake Print

Though I’ve always loved the classic look of leopard and other animal prints I was hesitant when it came to snake print at first. It seemed like one of those patterns that could very easily veer from chic to cheap all too easily. However, as the spring approached I was swayed when I stopped into Zara on a random shopping adventure with a girlfriend. And ever since then I have been eyeing (and adding) other snake print pieces to my wardrobe.

These are the other items I’m currently covering:

1. A gorgeous satin skirt from that’s giving me major Réalisation Par vibes.

2. A classic headband for a more subtle approach.

3. A handbag that can go from spring to summer to fall effortlessly and back again.

4. A one piece swimsuit that’s not only sexy, but on trend with both the pattern and attached belt.

5. And the perfect mules to add to my ever growing collection of snake print shoes.

Has this trend slithered it’s way into your wardrobe yet?

Slithering Into Saturday

Jacket: One Clothing / Dress: H&M / Boots: Zara [remixed from previous post] / Necklace: Forever 21

I recognize that eventually I’ll have to wear something other than these gorgeous boots (I don’t want to wear them out too fast), but I can’t bring myself to break away from them just yet. They pair just as well with a simple cotton dress as they do with jeans, and I can’t wait to experiment more with them this weekend!

A new approach I’ve taken to shopping is making sure I can visualize multiple ways to wear something before I invest in it and when I tried these on I saw more than just a few possibilities. It’s making me invest in pieces I really want, and also has lent to me really searching for just the right thing (I was on the hunt for snake print booties for well over 3 months before settling on these), but the wait was definitely worth it!

Orange You Glad

Top: Equipment / Jeans: H&M / Boots: Zara / Purse: Rebecca Minkoff

Orange is a color I tend to shy away from, but after almost non-stop rain in LA last week making it impossible for me to take outfit photos sadly, followed by a pretty bad fall (I am on the mend!), I am ecstatic to be getting back into my routine which includes work and blogging and the bright, cheerful hue felt perfect. To dress it down I paired it with my trusty H&M mom jeans and some new snake print booties I found on sale at Zara. I am super loving using animal prints as neutrals right now, and love the combo of the leopard print on the bag with the snake print of the booties combine with the orange. Lesson learned: Less is not always more!
