Leather Love ✔️

I never knew I needed a pair of leather pants until tried them.

Sweater: C&C California / Pants: Nha Khan / Boots: Sam Edelman

As far as pants go I have a pretty typical style. I either stick with jeans in a variety of colors and styles, or loose trouser in a silky material (the more they feel like pajamas the better). When I spotted these Nha Khan pants however, I knew I had to give them a try. They were the perfect amount of oversized and made me feel so cool and chic. I have definitely converted and can’t wait to try some similar styles!

Golden Moment

Sometimes it’s the smallest, simplest thing that can turn a bad day good.

Jumpsuit: J For Justify / Jacket: Staring at Stars / Shoes: Circus by Sam Edelman / Purse: Vintage Coach  / Earrings: Amazon

You ever have on of those days where for no other reason, in particular, you just happened to wake up on the wrong side of the bed? Well, I have far more of those mornings than I’d care to admit–this morning being one. I woke up sluggish, burned my coffee on my tongue, and was just feeling overall blah. I realized I had 10 minutes to throw some clothes on otherwise I’d be showing up to work in my pajamas (which in retrospect is something that probably would have made the kids happy) so I grabbed the first thing my eyes landed on which happened to be this jumpsuit, slide my feet into some mules that were already laying around, grabbed a jacket and some earrings and quite literally ran out the door. I was extremely frazzled until I got to my car and noticed everything was covered in tiny yellow petals. For some reason instead of being annoyed at how dirty my car was (which I normally would do), I took a moment to really take everything in and breath in the beauty of those petals creating a beautiful yellow blanket over everything around.

Pajama Dressing

I love an outfit that is as comfortable as pajamas, but more pulled together than your average pair of sweats.

Top: Forever 21 (similar) / Pants: Marshalls (similar) / Shoes: Nine West / Clutch: Thirty One Gifts / Earrings: Amazon

After I’ve been sick I find myself wanting to be both comfortable, yet pulled together, especially when I’ve spent the last 24 hours in what feels like my rattiest pajamas. Enter the magical silk jogger –about as comfortable as pajamas (if not more so), yet completely chic when paired with a simple lace crop top and patent leather mules. They have been a godsend ever since I discovered them years ago, and more often than not have saved me from feeling extra blah after my body has decided to rebel (when you have an autoimmune disorder and work with small children it happens more often than not).

Fringe Benefits

A pair of colorful fringe earrings can elevate even the most basic of outfits!

Blazer: H&M (Similar here & here) / Top: Goldhawk Clothing / Shorts: Free People (similar) / Shoes: 14th & Union (similar) / Earrings: Amazon / Bag: Elizabeth Arden (similar)

It has taken me years to hop on the statement earring trend–partly due to laziness and partly due to the fact that when I had my ears pierced at age 12 I had a pair of larger gage earrings put in, and after trying regularly sized ones back in high school I had to restretch the holes to my larger gaged hoops 2 weeks later–after that painful experience I decided to just stick with my classic silver hoops cause OUCH! However, in the past year, I decided I would rather have the freedom to play around and embrace the ability to switch out my earrings daily. I’ve slowly been growing my collection and when I found this cheap collection on Amazon I added it to my cart immediately. And I am so happy I did!

What’s your favorite accessory to throw on and spice up a basic outfit?

Due Credit

A little white dress can be just as solid a closet staple as the LBD.

Dress: Madewell (similar) / Shoes: Gap (similar)

Though I have a sizeable collection of LBDs in my closet, the one thing I’m always on the lookout for are little white dresses. Sadly I only have a few in my collection so far, but they are some of my absolute favorite finds, and I’m constantly on the lookout to expand my collection. Just like an LBD they can be both dressed up or down–just as easily paired with flip flops as they are with heels, and just as perfectly suited for summer as they are for winter. They are a classic closet staple that will never go out of fashion–even after Labor Day!

Thirty, Flirty & Thriving

Can you ever go wrong with an LBD?

Dress: Parker / Shoes: Chinese Laundry (similar) / Bag: Like Dreams (similar)

This past weekend I celebrated my 30th birthday, and to celebrate I got together with those dearest to me and danced the night away (shout out to all my amazing friends and family who made the whole entire weekend absolutely magical! I decided after about 3 weeks of searching to keep my look simple with an LBD with sheer paneling by Parker and nude heels by Chinese Laundry. To bring in some color I added a little yellow bag and some rainbow sunglasses for some playful pops.
