On my continuing kick of pattern play, I whipped this outfit up in less than a minute (my typical Monday morning strategy). By sticking with a very basic color palette of black and white in classic silhouettes, in pieces that I always feel my most confident in, I was able to create a fun and effortless look. It’s one of those outfits that is the brain child of lack of clean laundry and a severe case of the Mondays, but I can safely say it will be making the regular rotations now. Dressed down with white booties it was perfect for work, though would pair just as perfectly with some cute heels for a date night or even some mules for weekend wear and warmer temps.
Sweater: Minkpink / Jeans: H&M / Clutch: Ibella / Boots: Circus by Sam Edelman
I knew I was going to love this Minkpink sweater when I rented it, but I didn’t realize just how much until I tried it on. It’s cropped to just the right length that it pairs perfectly with both high waist denim or trousers, and can easily be thrown on over a dress as well, and I absolutely the black and white check print–it works as both a pattern and a neutral. I succumbed to the shopping fairy and purchased it less than 12 hours after it arrived, but it’s one of those items that is simple too perfect to pass up. I’ve already thought of at least 6 new ways to style it, so stay tuned!
Sweater: Urban Outfitters / Pants: Cynthia Rowley / Boots: Circus by Sam Edelman
Although I know they’re not the most practical choice when it comes to footwear, I have been coveting a white booties for what feels like ages. I spent months bookmarking different pairs and looking at different stores, but ultimately decided to go with these Circus by Sam Edelman ones. They’re the exact style I was looking for and the price point was perfect for a shoe I will likely get very dirty very quickly. Although I immediately scuffed them (is anyone truly surprised by this?), I didn’t beat myself up over it, and have pretty much worn them non-stop since I bought them. Definitely a purchase I do not regret!
